2nd model carbine produced 1863-1865. .50 cal., breech loading. Serial number 19556 on lower tang. Inspector's marks on stock. Marked "Edward Maynard Patented May 27 1851 Dec 6 1859" and "Manufactured by Mass Arms Co Chicopee Falls". Provenance: The collection of Craig and Cynthia Wertz. 36 3/4"L Original finish on stock. Metal finishes in very good condition. Crisp action and good rifling to barrel.
