Lightly marked "W.H. (Smith) Brooklyn" on reverse along with soldier's carved initials "J O". Plate with rich chocolate brown patina. Recovered from the Gettysburg Battlefield. Comes with LOA from The Horse Soldier in Gettysburg. Provenance: The collection of Craig and Cynthia Wertz. 3 1/4"W Plate definitely saw service and not Bannerman surplus. Rich patina, dings and slight bend.
