A 14 carat yellow gold signet ring featuring a large oval head with a rope-twist border. The face is hand-engraved with a highly stylized script monogram, possibly reading LS or VS. The head is supported by an ornate openwork gallery featuring scrolled motifs, transitioning into tri-lobed decorative shoulders and a plain, tapering band. The interior of the band is stamped with two marks: the letters PV within an oval punch, and a mark depicting a profile of an animal head above the number 14 (recheck). Weight: 5.32g. Condition: The ring is in good antique condition, showing general surface wear and fine scratches consistent with age and regular use. There is some softening to the engraved details on the face and the decorative elements of the gallery. The band shows evidence of slight thinning at the base.
