W. Britains American Civil War "The Art of War" series master diorama box set (#17244), titled "Forward With The Colors". Released in 2001 under Racing Champions Ertl, this 1:32 scale (54mm) hand-painted metal masterpiece brings to life the chaotic intensity of Pickett's Charge at the Battle of Gettysburg, inspired by the historical military artwork of acclaimed painter Dale Gallon. This master diorama collection dynamically depicts the desperate Confederate breakthrough at the stone wall on Cemetery Ridge. The comprehensive battle set contains a collection of six highly animated infantry figures cast in premium pewter/metal and finished with historically accurate matte paint. The group features prominent Confederate color bearers thrusting their flags forward, an officer leading the advance, and front-line troops charging amidst heavy battlefield ordnance. The figures are in immaculate, pristine condition, remaining safely tucked inside their original factory tissue protective wraps and nested undisturbed inside their original custom dark grey protective foam storage block. This auction lot comes complete with the original illustrated presentation master box sleeve, the background "The Art of War" series historical educational layout insert card sealed in its factory plastic wrap, and the vintage W. Britains Collectors Club Application Form. Manufacturer: W. Britains (RC Ertl Collectibles) Set Number: 17244 Series: The Art of War (Dale Gallon Master Set) Subject: "Forward With The Colors" Confederate Breakthrough Set Material: Hand-Painted Die-Cast Metal / Pewter Condition: New Old Stock / Mint in Box (MIB)
