1938 May V1 N1 THE CONVENTION CRIER Fanzine 8.5" X 5.5" approx 100 attendees... very RARE The First National Science Fiction Convention, also known as the Newark Convention, was held in Newark, NJ, on May 29, 1938. It's significant as the first science fiction convention in the United States and was organized by Will Sykora and Sam Moskowitz. The convention is notable for excluding some members of the Futurians fan group, including Donald A. Wollheim and Frederik Pohl, an event known as the "Great Exclusion Act". In very good condition, slight wear on corner tips, no signs of edge wear, published by Richard Wilson Jr.
