Remington Model 597 .22LR

Updated August 24, 2026

This Remington Model 597 is a semi-automatic rimfire rifle chambered in .22 LR and fitted with an approximately 20" barrel with a shiny bore. Serial number 2637469, this example is in fair overall condition with plenty of cosmetic wear and some visible rust from previous use and storage. Introduced in the late 1990s, the Model 597 was Remington's modern detachable-magazine semi-automatic rimfire platform and served as an alternative to the company's older tubular-magazine .22 rifles. The design remained in production in a variety of configurations for many years and became a familiar recreational rimfire rifle. This example shows substantial evidence of use, particularly to the exterior surfaces, although the bore remains shiny. Buyers should carefully examine the photographs for the extent of rust and cosmetic wear. Please see photos. Remington Model 597 .22LR Semi 20 Shiny 2637469 Fair
