Rock Island Armory VRPA40 12ga

Updated August 24, 2026

This Rock Island Armory VRPA40 pump-action shotgun is chambered in 12 gauge and combines traditional pump operation with the aggressive appearance and detachable-magazine layout of a modern tactical shotgun. Serial number R246230, this example features an approximately 20" barrel with a shiny bore and remains in good overall condition. The shotgun utilizes a modern frame and receiver configuration with synthetic furniture and a pistol-style grip, giving the VRPA40 a distinctive profile compared with conventional tube-fed pump shotguns. This example comes with one detachable magazine and features a barrel heat shield that adds both visual character and a rugged tactical appearance. The sighting system consists of a ghost-ring rear sight paired with a bright fiber-optic front sight. Rock Island Armory has expanded well beyond its famous 1911-style handguns, offering an increasingly diverse selection of shotguns and long guns, with the VR series representing some of its most visually distinctive designs. With its detachable magazine, heat shield, 20" barrel, and upgraded sighting arrangement, this VRPA40 is an eye-catching modern 12-gauge package. Please see photos.
