1952 JEFFERSON NICKEL INB SLABBED COIN LOT 1952 Jefferson Nickel INB Slabbed Lot Condition: The coins appear in circulated condition with visible surface wear and oxidation consistent with age. Details on the portrait and the Monticello reverse show softening, particularly on the higher points of the design. These items are housed in International Numismatic Bureau (INB) slabs, though a specific numerical grade is not provided on the labels. These are business strike coins minted in 1952, a period during which the Jefferson Nickel composition consisted of 75% copper and 25% nickel. The Jefferson Nickel series was designed by Felix Schlag and replaced the Buffalo Nickel in 1938. The obverse features a profile of Thomas Jefferson, while the reverse depicts his Virginia estate, Monticello. Since there is no visible mint mark on the reverse to the right of the building, these coins were produced at the Philadelphia Mint.
