1938 S EARLY LINCOLN WHEAT COPPER CENT INB slab 1938-S Early Lincoln Wheat Cent INB Slabbed Copper Penny Condition: This item is housed in a slab provided by the International Numismatic Bureau (INB). The coin is a business strike 1938 Lincoln Wheat Cent minted in San Francisco, as indicated by the "S" mint mark. The metal content is copper. Based on the visual evidence, the coin appears to have a circulated brown patina with visible wear on the high points of Lincoln's portrait and the wheat stalks on the reverse. The INB label identifies the coin within the 1930-1939 "Early Lincoln Cent" category but does not assign a specific numeric grade on the visible portion of the label. Historically, the Lincoln Wheat Cent was designed by Victor David Brenner and issued from 1909 to 1958. This specific 1938-S issue represents a late-depression era copper coin from the San Francisco Mint.
