Vintage Livestock Tattoo Outfit With 11 Digits

Vintage livestock tattoo outfit for permanently marking cattle, sheep, goats and rabbits. The set includes one pair of spring loaded cast steel tattoo pliers with a knurled thumbscrew retaining plate and one character die installed in the head, ten additional loose blue painted steel character dies for eleven dies in total, the original tan cardboard boxes printed TATTOO OUTFIT and TATTOO DIGITS in red, and one square dark glass bottle labeled TATTOO INK, Shake Well, with its cap in place. The die faces are formed from hardened steel pins and are coated in dried ink, so the individual characters cannot be read from the photos and no character list is published here. No manufacturer name appears on the boxes or the pliers. Condition is fair. The pliers show a grey patina with light rust in the jaw recesses, the spring is intact and the jaws close, and both boxes are soft, stained and torn. Sold as-is.
