Leather Top Two Tier Mahogany Side Table

Two tier open side table in mahogany finished hardwood with a serpentine bow and hollow front, an inset tooled leather top with a gold tooled border, four turned spindles supporting the top, and a shaped molded plinth base. A factory stamp on the plywood back panel is partly legible and includes the abbreviation MAH for mahogany. No brand name appears in the stamp. This is a mid 20th century American Regency revival piece rather than a period antique. Condition is good with honest wear. The leather panel is crazed and darkened with rubbed loss at the front right corner of the border, the wood top has fine scratches, there is finish chipping on the lower left side panel, and the lower shelf carries a pale water or heat blotch.
