Franklin Mint US Presidential Medal Series, Bronze

A collection of bronze commemorative medals from The Franklin Mint Presidential Medallic Series. The medals feature high-relief obverse portraits of various United States Presidents including Dwight D. Eisenhower, James K. Polk, JamesBuchanan, and Andrew Jackson. Obverse inscriptions include names and dates such as James K. Polk President of the United States 1845, James Buchanan President of the United States 1857, and Andrew Jackson President of the United States A.D.1829. One medal features Benjamin Franklin and is marked The Franklin Mint 1972. Reverse designs include a Peace and Friendship motif with a crossed tomahawk and pipe above clasped hands, and a commemorative for the Panama Canal GoldenAnniversary 1914 1964. The collection is housed in a wooden presentation chest with a hinged lid and a blue velvet-lined interior partitioned into individual rectangular compartments. Also included is a blue hardcover book titled TheThe medals exhibit signs of age and handling including surface wear, natural toning, and minor spotting or oxidation, most notably visible on the Dwight D.
