Oil on canvas board by Hungarian-born Quebec artist Louis Bernard. Depicting a signature soft-toned rural landscape with a rustic cabin and fence along the water. Signed "Bernard" lower right. Set in a matted wooden frame. Framed 11.5 x 9.5 in Artwork 7 x 5 in Collector's Note: Louis Bernard (b. 1934) Born in Hungary, Bernard immigrated to Canada with his family in 1943, settling in Montreal. Beginning his artistic development in his early twenties, he developed a self-taught technique combining heavy palette knife work with fine brush accents. Bernard became recognized across Quebec for his rural landscape scenes, characterized by a soft, harmonious palette depicting regional countryside motifs.
