Edith Anne Hamlin (American, 1902-1992) Oil on canvas depicting two tawny mountain lions within a stylized woodland landscape. One puma stands alertly, while another reclines in the foreground, against a backdrop of rolling brown hills and a dark, moody sky, flanked by tall grey tree trunks. Signed lower left. Framed. Edith Anne Hamlin (American, 1902-1992) was a notable American landscape painter, portraitist, and muralist. She gained recognition for her distinctive social realism murals, often created as part of the Public Works of Art Project during the New Deal era.
