Sculpted entirely by hand, each stool has been carved from <b>a single solid piece of tornillo wood</b>, preserving the natural grain, tonal variations, knots, and organic character of the timber. The two stools present distinct sculptural forms. The larger, lighter-toned example rises on elongated supports beneath a substantial rounded seat, while the smaller, darker stool develops a more compact architectural silhouette with a broad curved opening. Together they form a striking pair in which functionality, sculpture, and the natural character of Amazonian wood become inseparable. These works emerge from the artistic traditions of the <b>Shiwilu people of Jeberos, Loreto</b>, whose material culture includes an important tradition of wood carving and the sustainable use of forest resources.
