Condition: Estate Item A beautiful collection featuring Washington's Prayer at Valley Forge, 1777 & Washington Memorial Chapel by Royal Crownford of Staffordshire, England known for their collectible blue and white transferware featuring historical American motifs. The motif of Washington praying in the snow stems from a popular Revolutionary War legend first recorded in the early 19th century, depicting a solitary moment of faith during the harsh winter encampment. The Washington Memorial Chapel at Valley Forge was founded in 1903 as a national patriotic memorial dedicated to George Washington and the-men who served in the Continental Army. A wonderful collection of American history.
