Seller: Ava Smith Group Affiliation: Biggs FFA Species: Swine Dear My name is Ava Smith, I am fifteen years old and in the 10th grade at Biggs High School. I am a member of the Biggs High School FFA Chapter. My freshman year I played for the Biggs JV volleyball team and I was selected to be one of the team captains. During my freshman year, I worked hard to stay focused on my academics and by the end of the year I was ranked fourth in my class. I am currently taking an Animal Science class as well as an Ag Biology class. This year I am raising a pig named Hammy as a part of my FFA livestock project for the Butte County Fair. This is my first experience with a FFA animal or really with animals in general. I chose to raise a pig because I was very interested in pigs. I have learned valuable skills in responsibility, animal care, and feeding but overall about taking care of someone besides myself. I have spent so much time with Hammy over these past few months which will make saying goodbye to such a sweet pig like her very hard. My favorite aspect of this project has been spending time with Hammy and learning a lot about pigs in general. I plan to continue raising animals throughout high school. For the Silver Dollar Fair and for the Butte County Fair as well. Your support would mean so much to me. To help me continue to raise animals. As the fair gets closer, I am inviting you to go to the Butte County Fair on Saturday, August 29th, for the Livestock Auction at 10 am. Your support would help me and support local youth and agriculture in our area.
