Eli Barnes - Swine

Seller: Eli Barnes Group Affiliation: Palermo 4-H Species: Swine Dear Buyer, Hi, my name is Eli Barnes. I'm 15 years old, and I've been in 4-H for eleven years. This is my 8th time raising a hog for fair. My pig's name is Socks. I named him Socks because he is all black except for some white on all of his feet making it look like he has built in socks. What I've learned: I've learned that some pigs will be very moody and not get out of their pen and then not want to go back in their pen because they realize that it's better outside of the pen. Socks likes to eat watermelon, peaches, dirt, and grass. He also likes to run, rut, and play in my yard. He likes our chickens and tries to get in the chicken coop and he also likes my sister's pig. On hot days he likes to lay under the shade and in the misters as well as be spread by the hose when I come to clean his pen. While I am cleaning his pen he likes to scrub in the iodine and lick it. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and helped me through this process. I would like to invite you to the Butte County Fair auction that will take place on August 29, 2026, at 10 o'clock AM.
