Offered is a group of 25 U.S. Buffalo Nickels, representing various years from the popular Buffalo Nickel series. These coins are sold as a mixed lot and may include different dates, mint marks, and circulated conditions. Please review the photos for the specific coins included and their individual condition. The Buffalo Nickel, also known as the Indian Head Nickel, was designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser and struck by the U.S. Mint from 1913 through 1938. The obverse features a Native American portrait, while the reverse depicts an American bison. The series is especially popular with collectors for its distinctive early-20th-century American imagery. The first year, 1913, included two major reverse varieties. The original Type I featured the bison standing on a raised mound, while the Type II design lowered the ground and recessed the "FIVE CENTS" denomination to help reduce wear.
