An exceptional late 19th to early 20th-century Catholic pectoral clergy or nun's habit crucifix pendant. This striking piece features a beautifully detailed silver-plated corpus mounted upon a traditional ebony wood inlay within a solid silver-plated metal framing. At the base of Christ's feet rests a sharply detailed skull and crossbones symbol (Memento Mori / Adam's Skull), representing victory over death at Golgotha. Above the haloed head of Jesus is a finely cast INRI titulus scroll. The top of the cross is finished with a robust, integrated bale loop designed for a thick chain or cord accompaniment
