They mount to compatible toolholders or cut-off blades in lathes and CNC turning machines and can be replaced without removing the toolholder or blade from the machine. Available with single or multiple cutting edges, multiple-edge inserts can be indexed (rotated) to expose a fresh cutting edge when the current edge becomes worn.
