This collection consists of ten issues of The Index, a student-led literary magazine and yearbook published by Oshkosh High School in Wisconsin between 1918 and 1922. These staple-bound softcover volumes feature period-specific cover illustrations, including work signed by artists such as Gertsch and Whitcomb. Interiors, not inspected.The collection shows age-related toning, edge wear, and small chips throughout the paper covers. Notable damage includes tattering and an applied orange sticker on the October 1918 issue, plus damp staining on the Thanksgiving 1920 edition. Minor tears and chipping are visible on the Easter 1921 cover, and spines exhibit wear consistent with handled ephemeral paper goods.
