Vintage Bell & Howell Filmosound 12-inch Sound-on-Film speaker housed in its original portable cabinet. Front badge reads “Bell & Howell, Chicago U.S.A. – Filmosound – 12 Inch Sound-on-Film Speaker.” These speaker cabinets were originally used with Bell & Howell 16mm sound-film projector systems. Vintage Filmosound cabinets and their 12-inch speakers are also sought by some guitar and tube-amplifier enthusiasts for restoration and conversion projects. Cabinet retains its original carrying handle, burgundy speaker cloth, internal 12-inch speaker assembly, transformer/components and a long vintage cloth-covered cord. Exterior has old stenciled identification markings, adding to its industrial/school audiovisual character.
