COMIC BOOK ONLY FOR REFERENCE DOES NOT COME WITH BOOK THE AVENGERS #78 — ORIGINAL MARVEL COMIC ART PAGE 16 A genuine piece of 1970 Bronze Age Marvel history and an incredible 1-of-1 opportunity for Avengers collectors. Offered here is the original hand-drawn Marvel Comics artwork for Page 16 of The Avengers #78, published in 1970, featuring the celebrated creative team of Sal Buscema and Tom Palmer. This striking page showcases the Avengers’ Quinjet and a mysterious Wakandan aircraft, as the heroes investigate the vessel connected to M’Baku, the Man-Ape. The page captures an important sequence from Roy Thomas’ story, “The Man-Ape Always Strikes Twice!”, which culminates in the formation of the original Lethal Legion. The artwork is packed with classic Bronze Age Marvel production detail from the dramatic futuristic aircraft designs to the expressive character work and original production markings. The handwritten editorial notation “Use ad # APR 3-70” remains visible on the original board, providing an additional glimpse into the production process behind this historic Marvel issue. This is not a reproduction, print, or recreation. This is the actual original artwork created for the publication of The Avengers #78.
