Tony Conigliaro (nicknamed "Tony C") was a highly talented Major League Baseball outfielder whose extraordinarily promising career with the Boston Red Sox was tragically altered by a severe head injury. A hometown hero born in Revere, Massachusetts, he burst onto the scene as a teenager, setting home run records before a devastating "beaning" incident in 1967 derailed his trajectory toward the Hall of Fame.
