James "Jim" Currier (1886–1969) of Havre de Grace, Maryland, was one of the most prominent master decoy carvers of the Susquehanna Flats region. Unlike many contemporary carvers in the "Decoy Capital of the World," Currier completely eschewed duplicating lathes, choosing instead to carve every single duck and goose decoy strictly by hand
