Water reservoir holds 6 cups of water with auto-overflow; hidden tray separates plants from reservoir; with slits to allow only the roots to reach the water reservoir below; avoiding root rot. Excess water drains out the lower leveling support foot channel, no drilling is required. Lower support leveling foot keeps planter level No tools required Rattan look and feel IMPORTANT: You will find locking pins nested in railing brackets. The bracket MUST lock into place. If the pin does not sit flush with the planter, then the bracket is NOT seated correctly.
