Plates, Signed A lovely pair of small gold Aurene glass plates by Steuben Glass Works, each engraved on the polished pontil “Aurene” with a numeric shape code. Gold Aurene, developed by master glassmaker Frederick Carder beginning in 1904, is among the most celebrated iridescent art glass techniques of the early 20th century — prized for its rich honey-gold ground and dazzling oil-slick iridescence in violet and blue along the edges and highlights.
