Original 1981 acrylic painting by Lloyd Fitzgerald, titled “Dawn.” Striking surreal/figurative composition depicting a nude female figure beneath a bare tree and crescent moon, with mountainous landscape and classical urns in the foreground. Signed and dated “Lloyd Fitzgerald – 1981” lower left. The reverse is extensively artist-inscribed:“DAWN” – Acrylic Polymer Emulsion – Monochrome Underpainting Followed By Glazes – Lloyd Fitzgerald – 1981 Additional labels and inventory/provenance notations appear verso, including a label identifying Lloyd Fitzgerald, P. Dominion Gallery, acrylic “Dawn.” Unframed. Size: Approx. 10.5" × 8.5" Lloyd Fitzgerald (Canadian, 1912–1989) was a Canadian painter and illustrator recognized for his figurative, landscape and imaginative compositions. Working in oil, acrylic and related media, Fitzgerald employed traditional painting techniques alongside distinctive symbolic and surreal imagery. His works are noted for their careful draftsmanship, atmospheric colour and finely developed surfaces.
