Provenance: According to the ownership history accompanying the work, the painting entered Havana, Cuba, circa 1950 through José Gómez-Mena, a prominent Spanish-born figure associated with Cuba's sugar industry; subsequently transferred to Tampa, Florida, in 1963; thereafter held in private ownership. Visual Description: A densely populated Surrealist composition combining abstract signs, biomorphic forms, animals, architectural elements, and whimsical figures across a warm ochre ground. Strong black linear structures intersect with areas of green, red, purple, blue, and orange, while small creatures and symbolic motifs create an animated dreamlike environment.
