One vertically oriented oval framed painting depicting an artist’s studio or allegory of Painting, with a central artist, winged putto or cherub, and additional figures. The elaborate gilt or gold-toned frame has scrolling foliage, floral motifs, andfigural relief. The reverse bears an inventory label reading 941138 and attached hanging hardware. Visible wear includes abrasions, scuffs, and worn or thin gilt finish on the frame, with darkened recesses and general handling wear. The reversewooden components have scratches, nail or staple marks, and wear. The hanging wire is present and attached, but its strength cannot be assessed from photographs.
