One ornate rectangular footed cast-metal decorative casket or trinket box with raised scrollwork, foliate, and floral relief. A reclining female figure decorates the lid. The interior is a plain recessed compartment. No readable maker’s mark isvisible on the casket. Dark brown-to-black surface with lighter rubbed highlights, localized discoloration, scratches, abrasions, and dust or residue in recessed areas. The relief and feet show handling wear; no definite major break or loss isestablished from the photographs. Interior is empty and worn. Lid and hinge construction are not fully documented.
