Framed Architectural Cityscape with Dome

One framed architectural cityscape on paper or a paper-like support, depicting a European-looking urban square or street with historic buildings, a domed classical building, pedestrians, vehicles, street lamps, and foreground water or a fountain.Presented behind glazing with a dark mat and an ornate gold-toned foliate frame. An apparent lower-right signature may read “J. Lebrun,” but the reading and attribution are unconfirmed. Frame has edge wear, abrasions, discoloration, and chips orlosses, especially at the corners and along the lower and right edges. Glazing reflections limit examination; dust or scratches may be present. The artwork or surrounding paper has discoloration and scattered marks. The reverse backing is heavilystained and damaged, with tide lines, tears, lifting, losses, and a substantial irregular opening or tear in the center-lower area. Hanging wire and hardware are present, but their strength and condition have not been tested. The medium,original-versus-reproduction status, exact location, date, and authenticity of the apparent signature remain unresolved.
