The 1914-S $5 Gold Indian is a highly collectible coin from the innovative Indian Head Half Eagle series (1908–1929) designed by Bela Lyon Pratt. Struck at the San Francisco Mint with the “S” mintmark, it features Pratt’s distinctive incuse (sunken) design, where the Native American chief on the obverse and the eagle on the reverse are recessed into the coin’s surface.
