A 19th century deer skin-covered buggy trunk measuring 13 x 30 inches and 12 inches tall. The exterior shows wear, including peeling and soiling of the hide covering, with some missing accents and banding. Handles are present at each end, but no key is included for the mortised lock. The interior is lined with newspaper from the Republic Ledger (Philadelphia) dated circa 1867. The piece demonstrates clear signs of age and use.
