7 Pc Wood Carving Lot - Cajun Sign & Figures

Group of 7 wood items including two carved wood figural sculptures signed Sam James Ja. W.I. 1984, two carved wood owls, two wood boxes, and a Kiss Me I'm Cajun wood plaque with crawfish. Tallest figural carving measures approximately 15 inches tall per consignor, other figure slightly shorter, owl carvings approximately 6-7 inches tall, Kiss Me sign approximately 13 x 7 inches, boxes approximately 8 x 6 inches and smaller. These appear to be vintage folk art and souvenir items; the two large figures are hand-carved and marked Done By Sam James Ja. W.I. 1984 on the base, owl figures are hand-carved, one box has carved floral decoration with blue felt interior, one is a Leon Jimenes cigar box, and the sign has carved and painted lettering with crawfish in center. Exact age, origin, and maker have not been confirmed beyond signature. They show surface wear, scratches, scuffs, fading, and light soiling appropriate for age. Examine all photographs closely for condition. Comparable lots vary significantly; signed Sam James Jamaican folk carvings have sold for $40-$90 each, carved wood owls and souvenir boxes generally bring $10-$25 each, and Cajun novelty signs sell for $10-$20.
