No title page or date. Published by Myles Coverdale and William Whittingham. Released between the time of the Great Bible (Crammers, 1539) and the Bishops Bible which went into publication in 1568. Passed from John Locke Scripps to George Blanchard Scripps, then further down the family line in Mountain View California. John Locke Scripps wrote the first published biography of Abraham Lincoln. He also was an attorney and later postmaster of Chicago, appointed by President Lincoln. Leather is dry and cracking, shows wear. 4 1/4" deep, 10 1/2" wide by 14" top to bottom.
