Title is Victor, Colorado. 1993. 14" by 19" unframed, 22 1/4" by 27 1/4" framed. Laurence B. Field (1909-1999) was born in Cleveland, OH He was an accomplished painter and graphic artist. Field was best known for his Colorado landscapes. His early training included studies at the Cleveland School of Art and the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna, Austria. He also studied under the tutelage of Boardman Robinson at The Broadmoor Art Academy in Colorado Springs. Field also taught at the Broadmoor Art Academy. It was during this time, 1933-39, that he came into his own as a masterful landscape painter. His work has been exhibited nationally and graces the permanent collections of several Colorado museums, as well as that of the Cleveland Museum of Art.
