Complete with Signed Authentication Note from Edward Doherty, former Major League Baseball Executive and General Manager. Doherty notes that this signed ball has come directly in connection with the Thomas Yawkey collection. Tom Yawkey (1903–1976) was the longtime owner of the Boston Red Sox, serving from 1933 until 1976. A noted collector of sporting art and memorabilia, he also invested heavily in the team and Fenway Park, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1980. His legacy is also marked by the Red Sox being the last Major League Baseball team to integrate in 1959.
