This is a vintage casino gaming token (slot token) in the denomination of 25 cents (twenty-five cents) from the Isle of Capri Casino in Bossier City, Louisiana. These were used primarily for slot machine play (or promotional free play) at the property, which operated as a riverboat casino on the Red River. The token is made of brass or similar metal, approximately 25mm in diameter (about the size of a U.S. quarter), with a mint mark "RWM" (Roger Williams Mint, Attleboro, MA, which closed in 2006) The Isle of Capri Casino in Bossier City opened in May 1994 as one of the early riverboat casinos in Louisiana after gaming was legalized there in the early 1990s. It was operated by Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. (originally Casino America), which expanded rapidly in the mid-1990s. This specific token design (with the parrot/palm and basic text layout) dates to the 1990s (likely mid-to-late 1990s), during the property's heyday under original ownership. The casino was sold in February 2006 to Legends Gaming for $240 million and rebranded (now known as Diamond Jacks Casino).
