Authentic Original Vietnam War POW/MIA bracelet. Collectors item- Sold as shown. Historical Connection: This specific red aluminum bracelet honors Air Force Major Dean A. Klenda. He was an F-105 Thunderchief pilot shot down over North Vietnam (NVN) on September 17, 1965. The Story's Resolution: For over 50 years, Maj. Klenda was listed as Missing in Action (MIA). However, his remains were formally recovered and identified by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) in 2016, and he was finally buried with full military honors in his home state of Kansas. Bracelets for soldiers whose remains were later found or who returned home safely often hold deeper interest for militaria collectors.
