A contemporary expressionist painting on a canvas sheet featuring an abstracted, high-contrast human face. The composition employs dramatic chiaroscuro, with the left side of the face enveloped in shadow while the right side is defined by vibrant orange and bold black mask-like shapes. The work is executed in oil or acrylic with gestural brushwork that highlights the texture of the canvas weave. The canvas sheet is mounted to a brown paperboard support. The verso is plain and bears a small adhesive tab at the upper edge. Dimensions: Canvas: approx. 19.5 inches x 15.5 inches Support board: approx. 22.25 inches x 18.25 inches. Condition: Small areas of paint loss are visible on the right side of the canvas. General surface scuffs are present throughout the dark fields. The paperboard support shows wear, including creasing and minor tearing at the edges. The work is unframed.
