Two issues of The Mentor educational magazine dated May 1, 1916 (American Pioneer Prose Writers by Hamilton W. Mabie) and September 1, 1916 (Raphael by John C. Van Dyke), each originally sold for fifteen cents. Publications feature illustrated covers, interior text, and accompanying printed plates, including a portrait reproduction of Raphael’s The Lady with the Veil. Each measures approximately 8 in. by 11 in. Shows wear consistent with age and use including edge wear, toning, and minor creasing.
