This is a 1944 bronze commemorative medal from the Humble Oil & Refining Company. It was awarded to employees at the Baytown Refinery in Houston, Texas, for producing one billion gallons of 100-octane gasoline. Approximately 17,000 of these medals were originally distributed to men and women working at the refinery in appreciation of their contribution to WWII.
