Antique French brass travel shrine featuring a hand-painted portrait on porcelain of the Virgin Mary. The central image is set within a detailed, gilded brass frame with ornate openwork, floral and butterfly motifs, and colored enamel highlights. Theshrine has opening doors, concealing a smaller painted scene on the inner side. Notable paint loss is visible on the frame, and glue residue can be seen around the porcelain plaque, consistent with age and handling. A folding support is attached onthe reverse for display.
