This is a very old piece, solid cast iron with wear to bottom and is is called a "Twine Ball" and was used to put a ball of twine inside of, and start unraveling it for twine, yarn, etc for making things. Made in late 1800's. This is 6" tall x 3.5" base and 4" diameter belly. Approximate value is $75 +.
