Antique wooden coffer or blanket chest, featuring traditional hand-carved floral or sunburst rosette panels and a central iron lock plate. Solid hardwood with a hinged, split or paneled top lid and pegged joinery. The front is divided into three recessed panels, each deeply carved with a prominent stylized floral or sunburst medallion motif surrounded by geometric borders. Reflects European Renaissance or Revival craftsmanship (such as 17th-century Jacobean or Spanish/English country styles), traditionally used for storing linens, blankets, or valuables.
