Pair of antique wrought iron landiers (or andiron with a cresset/basket top), featuring a cup-shaped top historically used for warming food or holding a ember. Cast iron and brass cannonball andirons features a classic Federal-style spherical finial and tripod log-stop base. Material & Design: Hand-forged wrought iron with an open circular basket top, arched feet, and integrated front hooks (rack) used for holding roasting spits.Age & Origin: Typically dating from the 17th to 18th century, originating from France or Europe as a multi-functional hearth and cooking tool.
