Tall devotional sculpture depicting the Virgin Mary with closed eyes and hands folded in prayer. The graceful elongated design features flowing robes, softly carved facial details and a warm wood-tone finish. The underside is hand-inscribed “Sculpture by Pat Houghnew,” or a closely similar spelling. The exact material has not been verified and may be a molded composition or ceramic-type material with a carved-wood appearance. Displays beautifully as religious décor, church décor or part of a Christian art collection. Preowned with light scratches, surface marks, finish wear and small areas of residue or discoloration, particularly around the base.
