Details: Heavy late 19th-century Victorian portrait frame. Solid wood base featuring deep cove molding decorated with a thick, ornate band of scrolling acanthus leaf and floral gold gesso. Empty frame/no glass.Condition: Solid structural wood backing with authentic age wear. The gilded gesso plaster details show noticeable cracking, scuffing, and severe chipping loss down to the raw wood substrate on the corner seams and outer borders (see photos). Sold as-is.
